CBMI Awarded with Bulgarian Highest National Architecture Prize

On 10 December, 13th Bulgarian Annual Best Architecture Prize was announced. Devnya project contracted by CBMI, a subsidiary of Sinoma Group, won“Best Annual Architecture” of 2014 Bulgaria industry architecture technology renovation and reform. The prize is the first time for CBMI to win a national supreme award for projects contracted within European Union.

On the award ceremony held in award center in capital Sofia, Madame Liliana Pavlova, Ministry of National Development, awarded trophy cup and certificate to Mr. Wang Bin, the project manager of CBMI Bulgarian project.

Devnya project is the largest single industry investment for Bulgaria in the past 30 years, and 121 Bulgarian companies and 4500 Bulgarian persons have participated in construction and made extraordinary contribution. It is very influential in the country, hence, a special contribution prize was added for the project.

Bulgaria has begun the evaluation of Best Architecture Prize in areas of investment, construction and architecture from year 2002, to recognize the most beautiful and most influential architecture. The prize equals to Luban Prize in China, evaluation is very strict, it is necessary to go through very tight review by independent professional jury from professional and academic circles, numerous factors will also be considered in a comprehensive manner, like infrastructure surrounding the project, transportation access, entire compatibility, environmental protection, creative concept, high energy efficiency and sustainability, quality, etc..The award-winning architecture shall conform to Bulgarian standard criteria, it shall be completed by architect, designer and contractor as per architectural standard with guaranteed quality. It is the most influential prize in Bulgaria and has been held for 13 years up to now.

Devnya project is invested by Italian Cement Group, with Bulgarian subsidiary DENVYA CEMENT AD acting as the Owner, and CBMI as the general contractor. The project is located in the city of Devnya in the east of Bulgaria, 25 km far away from the nearest port city Varna. It is an expansion project with 6 cement wet lines existing, and new dry process technology was adopted for the expansion to build a 4000tpd clinker production line, the existing lines would be dismantled after new line completion. It’s an EPC general contracting project, the scope covering design & engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, etc., project includes the modification from quarry to joint storage, as well as from raw materials joint storage to existing clinker stockpile. The project has been ignited after over two years industrious construction, and it’s under commissioning right now. It’s another EPC project contracted by CBMI within European Union following its presence in Italy, Spain, France, Hungary and Cyprus.

Over 50 years since its establishment, CBMI has contracted more than 150 cement projects for over 60 countries in the world, becoming an industry pioneer for Chinese cement industry and a model for “going abroad”, currently, 90% surplus business of the company are at abroad.

 

On 23 November 2013, Mr. Liu Zhijiang, Board Chairman of Sinoma Group went to conduct an investigation on Bulgarian project and made a speech with stress: CBMI shall make Devnya a modeling project of Sinoma Group in European Union. On 10 November 2014, Mr. Li Xinhua attended the ignition ceremony of Bulgarian Devnya project, and praised CBMI undoubtedly an iron army under Sinoma Group.
