On May 8, CBMI and South Africa PPC Cement Group signed the EPC contract for Slurry Kiln 9 3000tpd clinker production line in Johannesburg. It is CBMI’s another accession into South African market subsequent to the completion of Lafarge project, meanwhile, it is CBMI’s first project to cooperate with PPC, and it has great significance for CBMI and Sinoma to enhance the collaboration with PPC, and further explore South African and African market.

Tong Laigou, Board Chairman of CBMI, Darry II Castle, PPC CEO, respectively representing the Contractor and the Employer, signed the contract. Members from PPC side, CFO Tryphosa Ramano, Project Director Leon, Project Manager Dipeen; members from Sinoma International, Board Chairman Song Shoushun, Board Chairman of Sinoma Overseas Branch, Meng Qinglin, Vice General Manager of Overseas Branch, Yang Lei; members from CBMI side, Area Manager Li Xingming, Marketing Director Ma Aiguo, Project Manager Liu Dengqiang, Senior Account Manager Wei Zhiguo, etc., attended the signing ceremony.

Slurry Kiln 9 project is invested by PPC cement group, is located in Leichenburg, Northwest of South Africa, is approximately 250km away from Johannesburg. The project scope covers from additive stockpile to clinker transporting into clinker silo, including engineering, procurement, civil works, installation and commissioning. The contract becomes effective upon contract signing, and construction period is calculated from the date of Contractor’s receipt of Owner’s advance payment, the construction period for the entire clinker production line is 25 months, with PAC at 28 months.

PPC cement group is the biggest and also the longest established cement producer in South Africa. It has built a strategic partnership with Sinoma International, and would jointly explore international cement market going forward.
