On March 16, Zimbabwe grinding unit project contracted by Sinoma Overseas Development Company was completed and put into production. A grand ceremony was held in Harare, capital city of Zimbabwe. Various dignitaries attended the ceremony in person, among them are the President of Zimbabwe Mugabe, the Vice President of Zimbabwe Mphoko, China’s Ambassador stationed in Zimbabwe Mr. Huang Ping, South Africa’s Ambassador stationed in Zimbabwe Mbeti, etc. Sinoma Overseas Development Company Chairman Mr. Meng Qinglin, Vice General Manager Mr. Yu Yang were also present in the ceremony upon invitation.

The President Mugabe pressed the production button by himself, then the machines were started, it signified the formal production of the project. The President Mugabe expressed in a subsequent speech: appreciation was given to the Chinese contractor for adopting advanced technology in project construction, completing the plant building with high efficiency and quality. The plant’s pollutant emission complied with globally strictest standard, and minimum pollution has been achieved which was owed to the technological strength of our Chinese partner.

Ambassador Mr. Huang Ping was briefed with project situation by Sinoma Overseas Development Company, expressed his affirmation and congratulations towards the smooth completion of the project, and proposed guiding ideas for Sinoma Overseas Development Company to develop in Zimbabwe in the future.

The Zimbabwe project was commenced in May 2015, and one year and nine months was taken to complete the project. The design capacity of the plant is 100t/h with annual output of 700 thousand tons. After completed, various performances reached design target, the project term, construction quality and production safety & security were fully approved by the project owner PPC group. The smooth operation of the project is another successful practice in Africa by the Group’s cement engineering business, which laid a foundation for further business expansion.
